Parul's Version
The romantic retelling
Shubham's Version
More factual
I always believed the universe had a plan — I just didn't expect it to involve a boy from Pune and a 12,000-km flight path.
The first time he made me laugh, I knew I was in trouble. The kind of trouble you don't want to escape from.
We built our world across time zones and video calls, between Vancouver rain and Pune monsoons. Every goodbye at the airport felt like the longest sentence I'd ever read — but every hello made up for it, twice over.
When he asked me to spend forever with him, I didn't even let him finish the question. Yes was the easiest word I've ever said.
And now, Goa. The sand, the sea, and everyone we love in one place. This is the chapter I've been dreaming about.
We met. I thought she was way out of my league. Turns out I was right — she just has terrible judgment.
The facts: Vancouver to Pune is approximately 12,300 kilometres. I know this because I've flown it more times than I can count. Each flight is roughly 20 hours. That's a lot of airline food.
But here's the thing about long-distance — you learn to say everything that matters. There's no small talk when you're paying per minute.
I proposed. She said yes before I could finish. Typical Parul — always a step ahead. I had a whole speech prepared. She'll never hear it now.
December 2026, Goa. I picked the beach because I wanted somewhere that felt like neither Vancouver nor Pune — a place that belongs to both of us. Also, the food is incredible.
